Debasmita is a dispute resolution and an arbitration lawyer having over three years of experience. She has completed B.A. Hons. in History from Hansraj College, University of Delhi. Thereafter, she pursued LL.B from Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Pune. She completed her LL.M in Dispute Resolution from Jindal Global Law school. Over the years she has represented various PSUs, Government statutory bodies and leading companies in complex arbitration matters ranging from maritime, infrastructure etc. in both ad-hoc and institutional arbitrations governed by the rules of Delhi International Arbitration Centre, Indian Council of Arbitration, International Chamber of Commerce etc.
She has represented clients before High Courts in proceedings challenging the Arbitral Award, Appeals under Section 37 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, Petition under Section 14 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking termination of the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal etc. She has also appeared before Bombay High Court, National Company Law Tribunal, Mumbai, National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, New Delhi, Arbitral Tribunals, Commissions and other forums. Prior to her tenure at Neeti Niyaman Debasmita was working with the chambers of Mr. Ashish Rana who is an Advocate on record, Supreme Court of India.
